Horizon 2020

Horizon 2020 is the European Union Framework Programme for Research and Innovation from 2014 to 2020.  It is the successor to the Seventh Research Framework Programme (FP7), in which EUCAR’s members have participated in a large number of collaborative projects.

Horizon 2020 offers a total budget of €77bn over 7 years to three main pillars:

  • Excellent science
  • Industrial leadership (including information and communication technologies, advanced materials, advanced manufacturing and processing)
  • Societal challenges (including transport, energy, climate action and raw materials)
