EUCAR at TM4CAD workshop on automated driving

On 10 June 2022, EUCAR participated in a workshop organised by the TM4CAD project (Traffic Management for Connected and Automated Driving Project). The project is funded by the Conference of European Road Directors (CEDR) and explores infrastructure's role in supporting automated driving.
In the workshop, the TM4CAD project members presented their approach and basic concepts while collecting feedback from EUCAR experts. Project in Focus: Hi-Drive

Hi-Drive focuses its efforts on several key challenges that are currently hindering the progress in vehicle automation. 40 partners from the automotive industry, research institutes and other relevant stakeholders collaborate in Hi-Drive to push automated driving (AD) from SAE Level 3 further up toward higher levels of automation. UPSCALE is a European project aiming to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) with traditional physics-based Computer-Aided Engineering to drastically reduce the development time and increase electric vehicles’ (EVs) performance. ENSEMBLE Final Event

On Thursday, 17 March 2022, the final event of the ENSEMBLE project was live-streamed. The event focussed on the achievements and the results of the project and discussed with experts and stakeholder representatives the needs for adopting this technology in Europe. Only one week left until the ENSEMBLE Final Event takes place

The ENSEMBLE project is paving the way for the adoption of multi-brand truck platooning in Europe. Truck platooning links two or more trucks in convoy using connectivity, while multi-brand platooning connects vehicles from different manufacturers. This improves energy efficiency, reduces CO2 emissions while increasing traffic efficiency and safety.
The final event of the ENSEMBLE project will be live-streamed on Thursday 17 March 2022. The focus of the event will be on the potential impacts of platooning, including socio-economic and business aspects. Project in Focus: LONGRUN

The LONGRUN project develops efficient and environmentally friendly long-distance powertrains for heavy-duty trucks and coaches. This confirms the commitment of the automotive industry to decrease CO2 emissions in road transport.
