Project in Focus: ORCA final event

On 22 September 2021, the ORCA project held its final event. The core team presented the project results and gave insight into the technical innovations built into the multimodal bus and distribution truck prototypes developed. EUCAR supported this event. High performant electric batteries are essential to de-carbonise society. Project in Focus: ICT4CART

Europe’s automotive industry has joined forces with suppliers, research institutes, and road authorities in the ICT4CART (Infrastructure for Connected and Automated Road Transport) project to provide the ICT infrastructure to enable the transition towards road transport automation. The project combines and advances the state of the art technologies from telecommunication, automotive and IT industries enabling seamless integration of vehicles with infrastructure and services. Project in Focus: LONGRUN

The LONGRUN project develops efficient and environmentally friendly long-distance powertrains for heavy-duty trucks and coaches. This confirms the commitment of the automotive industry to decrease CO2 emissions in road transport. The project brings together 30 partners, including three EUCAR members (DAF Trucks, FPT-IVECO, and Volvo Group), from 13 countries across Europe, who are joining forces to achieve a more sustainable future. Project in Focus: L3Pilot Final Event

Europe’s automotive industry has joined forces with suppliers, research institutes, and road authorities to test and evaluate automated vehicle technologies in real traffic conditions. L3Pilot (Piloting Automated Driving on European Roads) is the EU flagship project testing the viability of Automated Driving for safe and efficient transport. 13 OEMs participate in the biggest project for large-scale pilots for SAE Level 3 functions. The 100 test vehicles are exposed to variable conditions in 10 European countries with 1,000 test drivers all over Europe. As the popularity of electric vehicles (EV) grows, users' needs and expectations on charging solutions and services are increasing.
