EUCAR hosts the Programme Board Digitalisation of Road Transport

The series of the 2025 EUCAR Programme Board meetings continued this week with the Digitalisation of Road Transport.

The meeting covered the relevant research areas for automotive OEMs in the digitalisation of road transport, i.e. connected cooperative automated vehicles, safety and human interaction, R&I challenges of AI in the automotive industry, R&I challenges of Software-Defined Vehicles.

After the opening presentations by Thibaut Kleiner, Maria Cristina Galassi, Andrea De Candido, Geert Van Der Linden, and Sergio Escriba, Hi-Drive and FEDERATE SDV presented the status and preliminary results as the invited projects. The project presentations were complemented by talks from the European Association of Automotive Suppliers (CLEPA), Conference of European Directors of Roads (CEDR), and CCAM Association about Large-Scale Demonstrations, Software-Defined Vehicles, Artificial Intelligence, and the Digitalisation of Road Transport.

The EUCAR Programme Board meetings bring together senior research leaders from automotive OEMs, senior experts from the supply industry, several European Commission services, national road authorities and project coordinators. During these meetings, participants review the status and progress in relevant R&I domains to identify potential synergies and priorities for future research

The programme board meetings in 2025 will end with the commercial vehicles on 4 June 2025.
