EUCAR hosts the Programme Board Sustainable Mobility

The 2025 EUCAR Programme Board meetings kicked off, starting with Sustainable Mobility this week. The meeting covered the relevant research areas for the automotive OEMs in sustainable road transport, i.e. circular economy, battery technologies, life-cycle assessment (LCA), fuel cells and hydrogen technologies.

The EUCAR Programme Board meetings bring together senior research leaders from automotive OEMs, senior experts from the supply industry, European Commission policy officers, and project coordinators. During these meetings, participants review the status and progress in relevant R&I domains to identify potential synergies and priorities for future research.

TranSensus LCA presented the current status and preliminary results as one of the invited projects. The project results will be shown at the final June 2025 event in Brussels. TranSensus LCA aims to develop a baseline for a European-wide harmonised, commonly accepted and applied single life cycle assessment (LCA) approach for a zero-emission road transport system. Such a European LCA approach is seen as a key element in achieving the Green Deal targets

The series of Programme Board meetings in 2025 will continue with the Digitalisation of Road Transport on 27 May 2025 and the Commercial Vehicles on 4 June 2025.
