ITS European Congress Seville 2025
On 19 May 2025, ERTICO ITS Europe opened the 16th ITS European Congress in Seville, Spain. The event’s theme was ‘Clean, Resilient and Connected Mobility’, aligning with major European initiatives such as the European Green Deal and the Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy. The programme addressed key urban mobility challenges and focused on CCAM deployment, societal aspects of mobility for people and goods, emergent technologies: data and services for mobility and resilient and safe mobility for today and the future.
Stefan Deix, Director of EUCAR, had a good debate about the impact of connected, cooperative and automated mobility (CCAM) on the competitiveness of the European automotive industry. Other speakers for the automotive industry included Aria Etemad, Senior Project Manager, Volkswagen AG; David Storer, Director Research, Innovation, New Mobility, CLEPA; Jocelyn Delatre, Head of Digital Policy, ACEA and Cesar Lorenzo Perez, Director R&D, Renault (Spain).
Over 2500 attendees participated in more than 100 specialist sessions, three plenaries, a smart mobility summit for cities and regions, and exhibitions. The ITS European Congress is devoted to smart mobility and the digitalisation of transport. ERTICO-ITS Europe organised the event in collaboration with the European Commission and this year’s host city, Seville.
