Project in focus: TranSensus Final Event

The TranSensus LCA final event was held on 24 and 25 June 2025 in Brussels. During the first day of the event, the project’s final results were presented. On the second day, an open workshop was organised to align LCA actions across various co-funded R&I projects.

TranSensus LCA aimed to develop a European-wide harmonised, widely accepted life cycle assessment (LCA) approach for zero-emission road transport. LCA, generally, is a tool used to calculate a product’s environmental footprint throughout its entire life cycle (from natural resource extraction, through production and use, to disposal and recycling). The project results are relevant for zero-emission vehicles (e.g., battery electric vehicles, fuel cell electric vehicles) and are aimed at decision-makers in the industry to better understand the broader impact of different sustainability choices.
